Grandfather Mountain Animals : All of the animals at Grandfather Mountain were out and about sunning and getting ready for Spring to roll on into Summer. Plenty of people visited and here are some images to start off the 2008 season. Note: This is a State Park preserve with some injured animals (from hunters) and some born to captivity so they can't be turned to the wild. Beautiful place to visit with some nice animals.

Airlie Gardens : This garden was part of a 640-acre land grant from King George II to the Ogden brothers in 1735: by the 1800s much of the original acreage had been transferred to Joshua Grainger Wright. Sarah Jones created the formal garden and began planting in 1901. Today only 64 acres remain and are owned by New Hanover County. Airlie is located in Wilmington, NC.

Music On The Mountain 2008 : For the first "Music on the Mountain" it was just what the doctor ordered. Boone has started something that we hope will continue in the future thanks to two App students. Bafoodus, Firecracker Jazz Band, Uncle Mountain, The Afromotive, Sky Hi, Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band, Acoustic Syndicate, The Lost Ridge Band, Do It To Julia, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush and Perpetual Groove.

Your Bio

Welcome to the website. We have been collecting great images for some time now but never went public. Now we made the step so the public can see what we see and have an opportunity to have a piece of the mountains of western North Carolina.

MtnSnapshots is in a great place in North Carolina way up in the western mountains called Boone. Daniel Boone had a hunting cottage here but never lived here full time. This is also the best scenery on the Blue Ridge Parkway and we find ourselves lost in those areas often. Please feel free to contact me and enjoy my images.
